About this place
Renowned for their light, crisp batter that never feels greasy, deep-fried skewers are the natural starting point on any visit to Sho. Options range from a 5-skewer set featuring pork, quail eggs, asparagus, onion, and lotus root to a hearty 10-piece assortment, alongside a wide à la carte selection including Chinese yam, beni shoga red pickled ginger, and garlic. Freshly fried, these skewers pair effortlessly with dipping sauce, making it easy to keep reaching for another.
The supporting menu of drinking snacks is just as compelling. Slow-simmered doteyaki beef skewers sold individually, horse sashimi available lean or in a 4-variety assortment, and grilled Sen ham steak all provide savory counterpoints to a cold drink. The drinks list is well stocked to match, featuring Sapporo Black Label draft beer and Hoppy, playful sours like the towering Lemon Tower and pickled-ginger Gari-chu, as well as renowned authentic shochu including Maou, Isami, and Mitake served by the glass.
Situated in Suehiro, Kawaguchi, Sho stays open from 17:00 until 0:00 the following morning every day except Tuesday. The space accommodates both solo diners and groups, with comfortable tatami seating available. Those with room left can round off their meal with a bowl of well-spiced tantanmen or fried noodles, served in your choice of sauce or salt flavor.
